2023 Rural Ambassador

Rachel Kernaghan

Rachel arrived in Mullewa in January 2019 to begin her teaching career at Our Lady of Mount Carmel.  Initially she looked a little startled, but immediately embraced the rural life and is now making Mullewa her home. Rachel has immersed herself in the local community and began volunteering almost immediately in a range of local activities and organisations.  Rachel’s first volunteering role was an Ambulance officer during 2019 until 2022. An active entrant at the Mullewa show she hasn’t yet resulted in any ribbons; however, she continues to try every year.  Rachel is often the first person to volunteer where she sees a need, and always endeavours to help others and promote a collaborative community.  We are very delighted that Rachel has agreed to represent Mullewa and wish her every success.

The Rural Ambassador Competition is  a National Competition aimed at young rural adults who have a passion for living and working in rural communities.
